Chaos and Consciousness

Finding Soul and Meaning in Times of Change

A depth psychological and soul-centered immersion for those who sense that chaos — inner and collective — carries an invitation: to find new meaning, discover your ground, and awaken to a more conscious relationship with yourself and this unprecedented moment.

Why Now

Why These Transformational Gatherings Now?

We are living through a profound threshold in human history, when many people feel stretched between personal transformation and collective upheaval.

Old stories are breaking down. Familiar identities are shifting. Technologies are accelerating. Ecological and cultural systems are under pressure. Uncertainty can overwhelm or paralyze us, triggering challenges in our personal lives.

These small-group gatherings offer a sacred space to pause, listen beneath the noise, and reconnect with body, nature, symbol and soul.

The invitation is simple: to remember that we are not merely isolated egos trying to survive, but spiritual beings participating in a larger human journey.

The Soul-Centered Approach

Going Beneath the Surface of Ordinary Self-Improvement

Soul-Centered Psychology invites us to listen beneath the familiar stories of the ego and reconnect with the deeper intelligence of psyche, body, image, nature, and soul. Rather than relying only on insight or conversation, this work emphasizes learning and transformation through direct experience—opening pathways into the unconscious where new meaning, healing, and possibility can emerge.

01

Somatic

We begin with the body: breath, sensation, nervous system, instinct, and embodied knowing. The body becomes a doorway into presence, grounding, and inner truth.

02

Symbolic

We engage dreams, images, myths, archetypes, synchronicities, and stories as meaningful communications from psyche and soul.

03

Shamanic

We honor ritual, nature, imagination, and expanded awareness beyond the limits of ordinary consciousness.

The aim is not simply to "fix" what is wrong, but to enter a more spacious relationship with the whole self, and to remember the deeper life that is asking to be lived.

Is This for You?

These Gatherings May Be for You If…

You feel called to step out of ordinary life for a few days and enter a deeper conversation with soul, body, image, nature, and spirit.

You are ready to move beyond surface-level self-improvement and engage deeper inner work.
You are longing for more meaning, embodiment, creativity, freedom, and joy.
You are navigating transition, grief, awakening, uncertainty, or a threshold in your life.
You feel called to explore dreams, symbols, archetypes, body wisdom, ritual, or nature-based practices.
You work with others and want to bring more soul, presence, and depth into your life or practice.
You sense there is a larger story unfolding through your life and through this collective moment.

Words like 'wonder', 'transformation', and 'gift' are as close as I can get to even beginning to describe my time at Manta Soul.
If you are committed to self-reflection and you strive to squeeze as much meaning out of your life as possible; are stuck in habitual patterns, hoping for greater clarity in your life; or you're simply curious about the nature of consciousness, this is definitely for you."

— Luke T., Los Angeles

My retreat experience was profoundly transcendent in every sense of the word—an absolute physical, spiritual, and emotional sanctuary that sustained and supported my expansion of consciousness with such ease and grace. Magic lives at Manta Soul.

The retreat takes place at Manta Soul™ (Mauli Ola O Ka Hāhālua), a private jungle retreat on the slopes of an ancient volcano on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Owned and operated by Dr. Bright and Dr. Morin, Manta Soul™ offers a restful sanctuary to renew deep connections with nature and self. We gather on land that has been cherished and tended by Native Hawaiian people for centuries. We are humbled to steward a small piece of this sacred place, and we do not take lightly the complex history that brought this land into non-Native hands. We acknowledge with gratitude and accountability the people whose roots run deep within it, and we endeavor to honor their enduring presence in all that we do.

What is there to do in the area?

Manta Soul™ sits minutes from the historic town of Captain Cook and the world-famous Kealakekua Bay — home to pods of spinner dolphins and crystalline waters accessible by boat or on foot. Within easy reach: kayaking, swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling with manta rays, hiking, art galleries, restaurants, and the magnificent Captain Cook trail. Active volcanoes are less than two hours away.
